Quick sizing guides
- Chandelier diameter: add the room's length and width in feet; the total is roughly the ideal diameter in inches (12 ft × 14 ft room ≈ 26 in chandelier).
- Over a dining table: choose a fixture one-half to two-thirds the table's width, hung 30–36 in above the tabletop.
- Kitchen island pendants: hang 30–36 in above the counter; leave about 24–30 in between pendants.
- Bath sconces: mount at roughly eye level, 60–66 in from the floor, on either side of the mirror.
- Vanity mirror: a few inches narrower than the vanity, centered over the sink.
